Koalas are primarily in the eucalyptus groves of eastern and southern Australia, preferring a climate that remains relatively temperate. These endearing marsupials pass much of their existence reposing in the canopy, eating almost exclusively blue gum greens, which are lacking nutrients and necessitate a significant amount of energy to break down.
